Hi Teacher Friends! We are two literacy educators from Baltimore who are passionate about the need for all students to have the best literacy instruction possible. We believe this starts with high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) and teachers making sense of the science of reading!

Learn and laugh along with us on our podcast!

Melissa and Lori

As two literacy/dyslexia specialists, we've come together to talk about literacy, dyslexia, and the connection to the social-emotional impact it has on our students, their families, and the educators who serve them.

The Educate podcast is all about education. We care about equity and opportunity and how people learn. We dig deep into education research. We're curious about how research translates into policy — or not. We think good teaching is hard. We think history has a lot to tell us about why things are the way they are. We believe in vivid storytelling.
